Well hello there April!

Whew! What a month March was for me. Nothing "stressful." Just pretty hectic. Being sick pretty much all of February kind of set ME back this past month. And now here it is...April 1st.
So just a quick (very quick) rundown of March:

THE MOST FUN thing I did was going to the PBS Kids brunch during SXSWi.
**Let me warn you now, that this is where I get giddy like a school girl going to a New Kids on the Block concert**
I was so excited when I was extended an invitation last year, but then to receive that email from Caitlin again? Total Awesome-sauce! And this year...I met sooooo many bloggers. Many from right here in Austin too! Let's see...There was Shannan of Riemerville, who I actually met at last years brunch. Ummm ooh ooh Christina of A Closet Writer, who I first connected with through twitter! (God who doesn't LOVE twitter?!) And I got to meet Gigi from Kludgy Mom. AND OMG did you know she writes for like everybody?! You may recognize her from Sheposts or Business2Blogger. I also met Lisa of Soak It All In. Who by the way takes AMAZING pictures.
I totally got to schmooze (yes that is totally a word because there was no red squiggly line under it) with "famous" (famous to me and probably some of you too) bloggers like Rachael of Today's Mama. OMG I was SOOOO excited about talking with her for as long as I did. She is super funny and totally fantastic! I would love to be her kid for a day. You wanna know something crazy? Live Mom lives here in Austin. (Well I think its actually Pflugerville, but whatev). Yes Catherine lives right in my city! LOL. 3 words: Mom It Forward! Yes that's right! I even met Jyl from Mom It Forward! *SQUEAL* I shook her hand and everything. Laughed at jokes, talked about her room situation during the conference (which was a funny story). Ahhh...meeting her I felt like I had made it lol. Standing there with her, Rachael, and my fellow Austinites...wow. Good stuff I tell ya.
I made some awesome connections! And learned more about PBS kids programming as well. Sarah DeWitt (VP of PBS kids interactive) even sat at our table! What made this experience amazing was not just the bloggers, but everyone who works for PBS kids. Linda Simensky, the VP of PBS kids programming, spoke on how she became "inspired" and how she is working on finding ways to bridge learning with technology. "Every new technology, is every new opportunity" for kids to learn. Goosebumps.

March was also filled with rugby. Big Daddy just seems to be getting better and better. His first year ever playing rugby and he is ranked #2 for tries (touchdowns) scored in the Texas Rugby Union, D3 division. He's enjoyed playing so much that he has decided that he wants to coach rugby too.

My new job has been great. Finally in a groove so you'll be seeing more and more of me here. I don't have a laptop right now, so hopefully I'll get one for my birthday...which by the way in on April 27. You know...just in case you wanted to send me a cupcake or something.

So bring on April. I am ready! Y'all ready for me?! :)

WWF...do you play?

Ok so I, like the thousands and thousands with an iPhone or iPod, plays words with friends. It is an obvious fact that it is a VERY addicting game..go ahead and ask those people, they'll tell you. I know I for one am always looking at my phone when I hear that "noise" saying, well alerting cuz my phone doesn't talk, that one of my 20 (yes 20) opponents has played against me.
It really is super fun to play. I mean I learn a new 'word' EVERY SINGLE GAME I play. Like for example, UT. Really, UT. What the hezzy right?! Ok so I looked it up and low and behold...it says it's internet slang for unreal tournament. Really? Ok so I can't use JUNE because its a proper noun, but I can use internet slang?! Well in that case let me use DOH. But noooooooo. I get that stupid ass message "Sorry, that is not an acceptable word." I mean come on.
There are some people that I play against...ahem...Big Daddy...that swears that they just tried letters together and just magically come up with words totaling like 40+ points. (I actually don't have the game saved anymore, but I will steal his phone and post that damn word) I mean, hey, I do it too: OE, DE, HOD, EM, NA, VIDE, (and just so you know, I got that red squiggle line under that word lol), JURA...I mean the list goes on. It makes me look smart. HA! You know, y'all think that too when you pull some random word out your ass. LOL. What in the heck is JURA or HABUS anyways?!
Now don't get it twisted, all the ranting in the world will not make me stop playing the game. I'm ADDICTED! Like I need a meeting type of addicted. Well not really, but y'all know I like the dramatics :)

So I wanna hear it. What's the word you wanna challenge? Tell me that one made up word...you know...so I can play it in my next game.

"It's busty today"

We got to Juju's school this morning and whoa baby. I mean it was windy when we left the house but damn!

(as we're getting out of the car, about to cross the street to go into his school)
JUJU: Its busty today.
ME: It is. Wait, huh?
(we get to the door and are walking inside)
JUJU: I said It's really busty today.
ME: Busty?! Like BUH-STEE?
JUJU: Ya. It was in dat story, I think so. (he says "I think so" after he explains something)
(we get in the breakfast line, waiting for them to open the door)
ME: What story is this?
JUJU: You know. With the bear. Um. And the bear...
ME: Oh Pooh?! You mean blustery.
JUJU: Ya das what I said, busty.
(we get our food and go and sit down)
ME: No Juju its blustery. BLUH-STIR-EE
JUJU: Oh ok. blustery.
ME: Do you know what that word means, blustery?
JUJU: Um I think so. Like the wind is crazy. Like dis...
(and he gets off his chair and starts waving his arms around all crazy like some sort of interpretive dance but on speed LMAO)
JUJU: You know. Like your hair.

So I pull my ipod out of my pocket...cuz u know, I got a mirror screen protector on it. And damn it! He was right! And all I could think of as I was trying to smash smooth my hair back down is...
this kid really did just let me walk around and NOT say a damn word about my hair standing up all over the damn place!
Freakin A!!! :)~
