So for like 3 weeks now, I have become obsessed with wanting to whiten my teeth. Like I seriously have been doing research. Yes, research people. So like maybe a weekend ago, Big Daddy bought some of that Crest 3D white toothpaste. I have been using it and, well my teeth do look a little whiter. A little. I do believe it is working. I mean my teeth weren't super stained or anything, but I am aiming for GLEAMING WHITE. But not Ross Gellar "glowing" white. (Ya I went there lol.) So the other day, Big Daddy went out and bought the Crest 3D white mouthwash as well. Ok so, we've had this ongoing "discussion" about mouth wash and when in your dental routine you are supposed to use it. He uses mouth was before he brushes, I use it after. I mean if you use it before, don't you brush it away?
What do y'all think? Before or after? And why?

im a big believer in teeth whitening! love it! :)
ReplyDeleteI do after because I feel like brushing loosens plaque and then the mouthwash completely washes it away. I hope.
ReplyDeleteI use it after I brush because it's like mouth rinse/mouth wash? I never actually heard of any saying they used it before, but what do I know. I just learned in recent years bad breath comes from not brushing your tongue...which I do now religiously. I like white teeth too, so I hope all the products works out for you.

I'm an after swisher...I don't know why...lol.
ReplyDeleteYour supposed to use the mouth wash before you brush to loosen the plaque. Then brush it off then finish off by rinsing with water. What's the last thing you rinse with at the dentist office? Water!

ReplyDeleteI found you on lady bloggers and wanted to stop by.
ReplyDeleteFirst off, lol, it's too funny the debates between spouses, isn't it.
I see I'm not the barer of bad news (thanx to Rickey) your hubby is right. Wash before rinse, my dentist says. :) And if your going for whitening and don't want to spend an arm and a leg, you can always call your dentist and see what they have to offer. I use a whitener from my dentist that I love. The initial cost to have a dental tray made was a little expensive, but the whitening gel itself is quite reasonable.
Okay, I'm a bit long winded. Great site, I'll stop in again. :)
Im obsessed this week with the teeth whitening too....i'v been using gels and trays... I have to tell you I use mouthwash after..lol
ReplyDeleteHey I'm new -- stopped by from Friday Follow! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's interesting, I've been thinking about getting my teeth whitened as well. I was talking about different options with my dentist a couple weeks ago, actually.
After.... I agree that there is no use in doing it before!
ReplyDeleteI would do it after! I wouldn't want to wash it away. Hopping by from Friday Follow! You have a new follower! Come and visit me at Mama's Little Chick.

ooohh.i was just thinking about trying some teeth whitening solutions out. I received a free sample of the 3d strips from walmart. I haven't tried them yet though.
ReplyDeleteI use mouthwash after. I mean brushing it's like cleaning, & then using mouthwash is just like refreshing so it just makes sense it should go after.
=)
Oh my gosh, I've been wanting to get that too. In fact, my friend uses it and her teeth are super white!
ReplyDeleteJust a heads up, if you have it done professionally: that shit HURTS like a mutha! AND I wasn't all that impressed with the results.
ReplyDeleteI'm all for the rinses, the strips the whitening toothpastes, in ANY order but its all for naught since I'm a coffee/red wine addict, darn it.
My teeth hurt just THINKING about whitening.
ReplyDeleteI've used trays and a whitening paste that my dentist prescribed, but it made my teeth zing every time I opened my mouth.
Never tried the rinse. I hope you write a post to let us know if it works well.
I like the theory of rinsing before brushing, and can definitely see the logic, but I like to seal my dental routine with a big swig of mouth wash to make my mouth feel super clean!
