I want a snow day filled with drama and margaritas

1. If you had $1,000 to donate to a charity, which would you choose?

 It would totally have to be the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund. Mikshake (my soon-to-be 13 yr old) was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes right before his 3rd birthday. He is insulin dependent. He had to take 4 shots a day, breakfast, lunch, dinner, and right before bedtime. He is now on an insulin pump. (Thank goodness!) He has been hospitalized 3 times and in PICU twice all for dehydration due to the flu and stomach flu. What I wouldn't give to take his diabetes away.

2. Snow days: Do you welcome them happily or are they a pain in your butt?

Every state that I have ever lived in (Hawaii, Nevada, Louisiana, and Texas) NEVER has snow days. Only delayed days. And in essence it's still not a snow day. So I would welcome a snow day. Especially if it means I don't have to sit in traffic and go to and from work. But you can keep the snow :)

3. What talent did you wish you had and why?

I totally wish that I could whistle. Serious.

4. Are you a news, politics or celebrity gossip junkie?

I wouldn't say I was a celebrity gossip junkie. I mean hey its cool to hear but I don't go out of my way to find out all the latest juice. I guess I have an addiction to the Real Housewives series. They're fun. I mean mindless, meaningless, rich, celebrity wanna be drama is always good entertainment. News and politics are NOT entertaining.

5. What is your favorite "cocktail"? (Are you a beer person, a kiddie cocktail junkie, or perhaps your more the "Cosmo" kind?! Anything flies...doesn't hafta be alcoholic!)

Margaritas and pina coladas. I dream of life on a white sand beach wearing nothing but a bikini sucking face with Big Daddy drinking my "island" drinks. Thats what Big Daddy calls my fave drinks = island drinks :)

1. What Christmas song do you loathe?
HA! I, like Mama M, HATE the song "Merry Christmas Darling." It sounds so depressing to me for some reason. BLEH! Christmas songs are supposed to be fun not boring. Oh, and I may get lashed for this, but "White Christmas" too. Its only because I hate the cold. HATE! I'm an island girl...I love the sun. Snow is cool if its just on Christmas day, but just that day. Ok please don't stone me. I promise I really do like Christmas :)

2. Do you and your significant other cuddle at night or sleep on opposite sides of the bed?
We sleep on our sides of the bed lol...so yes...opposite sides. Unless...you know ;)

3. Have you ever had surgery?
Yes I have had 4 c-sections, and my wisdom teeth pulled. And hopefully next year I will be having another surgery for the "girls."

4. When do you typically have your holiday shopping done?
I'm one of those that kinda shops through out the year, but for some reason I still am running around like a mad woman the couple days before Christmas. And when I say couple days before Christmas, I really mean Christmas eve. Its like you see something and think oooh that would be GREAT too. You know, even though you got something for that person back in like July. So I guess my holiday shopping is never really "done."

5. If money were not an issue (and you HAD to pick something), what would your ultimate luxury item be?
OOOOOHHHHHH! I would want a yacht! With staff included. Or maybe a new house with at least 2 acres of land. And a yacht! :)

In an effort to expose myself to y'all, so you can get to know the real me, here it is...this week's 5QF. Brought to you by none other than Mama M.

1. If you could go back to college would you change your major? Or, if you were to go to college right now...what major would you choose?

If I was to go back to college, I would definitely go into medicine and become a surgeon. I always wanted to be a surgeon. 

2. What do you love most about your home?

Probably that its not mine. We are renting a duplex right now and don't have to worry about fixing anything when it malfunctions. Don't have to worry about over grown trees or bushes. Or even worry about the grass and spraying for bugs. LOVE THAT!!! :) 

Oh and that the monsters' room is on the other side of the house from me and big daddy's room.

And that its smaller.

And my walk-in closet.

And all of our new furniture.

And the hardwood floors.

Ok I'm done now.

3. What types of books do you like to read (if you like to read at all)?

I love beach blanket books...like Lipstick Jungle, and 5th Avenue. Oh and I love me some "hood" books. 

I also like biography type books about athletes and musicians and "real" books like Fahrenheit 51, and Nectar in a Sieve.

4. What is the grossest thing you've ever eaten?

Be careful you may throw up in your mouths a little bit: Nato (nah-toe) aka fermented soy beans. Oh and gravy bleh. If you're wondering why gravy...just ask. Or check out a previous post where I answer questions about me :)

5. If you HAD to be a character on a TV show, whom would you be?

I would be Teresa Giudice! muah muah muah! 'Nuff said.

So this is my first time playing...YAY! (*in my UFC ref voice*) Let's get it on! Here are the 5 questions for today (with my answers)...

1. Do you have an iPhone and, if so, how do you get apps and what are your favorites?
Don't have an iPhone (though I wish I did). I do have a Blackberry Storm. I have TONS of apps: UberTwitter, facebook, bb messenger, weather eye, skype, myspace, bankof america, flickr, youtube, poynt--->those are my faves. :)

2. What is your fondest memory of K-3rd grade?
School plays, choir, and CHEERLEADING!!!


3. What makes you cringe at the thought of touching?
Ok...so y'all are gonna think I'm uber crazy! But gravy. EEEEWWWWW. I just get goosebumps thinking about it. I will not touch it. Ever. I don't even make it. I'll eat it...with other food of course not by itself. Oh and it has to be white gravy if I eat it. Brown gravy, yuck!
And like Mama M, vomit. I mean, no one likes touching vomit though right?


4. If you could have any celebrity show up on your doorstep who would it be and why?
2 words: VIN DIESEL. That is all.


5. What would you say is your best physical feature?
So I think I have nice full lips. Not too full...just right. Oh and I love my legs. I thank cheerleading everyday for my toned legs.
So that was actually really fun. Except now I'm thinkin bout gravy....
