Grilling Goodness #16

Another friday, another grilling goodness...#16 to be exact...I LOVE this meme!

1. Do you and your spouse still celebrate Valentine's Day?
No, not really since we had juju back in 2006...we do give each other a card, but we've agreed on no gifts. Big daddy refuses to buy into the "hype" of a fake holiday...LOL! (MEN!!)

2. When's the last time you licked a stamp?
Haha...last week actually, when I sent out bills

3. How many clocks are in your home?
Working? umm...2 I think, but if you count the stove/oven clock and microwave clock, then 4...we have one clock that needs batteries (sshhh don't tell, I took them out...its one of those freakin' clocks that goes tick, tick just loud enough to annoy the shit outta me!)

4. What holiday is closest to your birthday?
Easter, close, but sooo far. (April 27 if y'all wanna jot it down real quick)

5. Do you cook anything the same way your mother made it when you were growing up?
One thing, wait, 2 things...her pumpkin crunch cake and her korean dip chicken.

6. Do you pay bills online?
Yes, I actually do...through my bank.

7. Will you be gathering to watch the Super Bowl on Sunday?
Oh HELL YA! GO STEELERS!!!!!!!!!! (what can I say...big daddy loves footbal!)

8. Have you treated yourself to something this week?
If you call buying myself a pretzel at Tarjay to share with tank, then yes.

Come know you wanna play along! Go and visit the Golden Goddess to play along and then come back here and let me know so I can get to know you, my blog family, a little better.
So long for now!

First phot post!

I've made my first photo post on the new photo blog...go check it out. It's just one picture because tank was doing that sleepy whine/cry. So hopefully more pics later today, but if not, you will see one tomorrow, and hopefully everyday after that.
So go and visit High Heels & Athletic Shoes and meet my family.

I've been wanting to participate in the I heart faces weekly contest, but have just always forgotten. Well not this week. The theme is JOY! Should be easy right? Uh NO! Too many pictures to choose from. After about 20 minutes of searching, I think I've got it....

Juju was playing peek-a-boo with tank...juju covered himself with his blanket and tank started to fuss...when juju yanked the blanket off his head, tank just doubled over laughing! I know he looks a little psycho in the face, but I still think it shows how much JOY he was experiencing knowing his bubba didn't  just disappear.

Have a photo you think shows some JOY? Well head on over to I heart faces today. Pictures are being accepted until wednesday.

Starting my morning off right!

So....guess what....I finally did it! I created my photo blog, High Heels & Athletic Shoes! YAY ME! Well I haven't really posted anything yet, but hey, at least I created it.
So I've decided that its just gonna be a free spirit photo blog. You know, no themes...yet. I'm hoping that with this blog I will refine my picture taking skills and maybe even give big daddy a push to buying me a new digital camera. We shall see.
I will post after MY morning chores (uggghhh) letting you know my new monday theme for this blog and of course when I FINALLY post some pictures on the new blog.

(BTW...the new blog can be found HERE)

(Tara over at Our Princess In Pig Tails just had to vent! Good idea, I think i'm gonna join in too!)

I hate it when...
*You (meaning me) finally get around to mopping the kitchen floor an surrounding area and the dog decides at that precise time, he wants to go out to use the bathroom
*Everytime I make a genuine effort to keep our desk area clean and free of clutter, my husband decides he needs to find something, makes a mess while doing it, and proceeds to tell me that I need to keep everything in its place from now on..because.."Look at this mess!"
*Juju makes it to the potty, pulls his own pants down, and goes potty by himself, but then as soon as he pulls his pants/underwear back on he goes potty again, in his underwear.
*You excel in your job, only to be held back by seniority...yup thats right..Suzy, "So he has a question about his bill, he needs to talk to who then, billing?" gets a raise before you do.

So i'm behind...

...what else is new? Anyways, the reason I have not created my new blog is this...I can't decide on a name. When I created this blog, it came to me like some kind of divine intervention...well not really, but you know what I mean. So, because I know y'all can't wait to take a peek at my world, as soon as I'm done posting this, I will create....(drum roll)

High Heels and Tennis Shoes *a picture blog*

or wait...

The Inside Scoop: The BLR

Aaaarrrrgggghhhhh! you see my frustration?! LOL...what am I gonna do with myself? Big daddy could care less as long as I make him look good. I have two besties and one says the first one (she's a girlie girl like me) and the other likes the second (really have no idea why). Well, I promise I'll have it together before the day is over.

Tuesday, January 20, 2009

Y'all know, that for ideas and inspirations, I troll all my fave blogs. The one thing I've noticed is PICTURES! Pictures, pictures, and more pictures! So with keeping in fashion, I've decided to create a blog dedicated to just, say it loud, PICTURES! So look for that either tonight or tomorrow.

P.S. If you've been following me on twitter, or seen it on my blog know I'm supposed to be cleaning. LOL! OOHH but the computer keeps calling me! How you ask, well everytime my screensaver comes on its basically saying, hey forgot about me again! Ok, Ok, back to work.

Babylegs giveaway!

Love babylegs? Well head on over to Feisty, Frugal, and Fabulous for your chance to win a $20 babylegs gift certificate.
When juju was learning how to crawl, babylegs came in handy...he had and still has exzema all over his body. They helped lessen the "carpet burn" that could agitate his flare ups. And duh...they are oh so cute! Leg warmers, schmeg warmers...get your little one a pair! It also helps in the cold too...if you have a little one like my tank who doesn't like wearing pants, these are for you. So head on over to Feisty, Frugal, and Fabulous for your chance to win. A winner will be chosen January 25th.
To see all the babylegs styles, visit today!

Thanks to Nicolle over at The Pink Chandelier for posting this giveaway on her blog.

It's a great day today!

No, sarcasm.
First all, sorry Mr. Obama, but today is my day OFF! YES! And let me tell you, I needed it. on to you, Mr. Obama...what a great, historic day! I am glad that of all the days off I coulda had this week, it was today! Look out people...our time has come...finally I believe change will come! (haha that rhymed)
So how is my day starting out so far, you ask...well I'm blogging, which we know these past couple days I haven't been able to do, so YAY...feeding tank cheerios in his walker...isn't it hilarious that when learning to walk, your child goes backwards in his/her walker?! But boy can he make his way around our living and dining room backwards! Oh and just a quick comment about tank eating, this child has not a single tooth in his mouth, but still manages to eat chicken, and crackers! Last night he even had some beef ribs! Seriously, how is that even possible?! Anyways...Juju is watching mickey mouse clubhouse, naked, drinking a cup of milk. Don't judge me...we are still potty training, and being naked helps! Trust me...he rather pee in the pot than pee on far so good.
Its 8:17am now and that means I need to get off this chair, put a pull up on juju and head out the door to take them to daycare. selfish am off, and taking them to daycare..well in all honesty, I do have to get the carpets steamed today and having 4 feet and wheels around will definitely make it off to daycare until at least 2pm.
Later blog world...see you in a few!

My week in review...

...boy have I missed my blog world! So I caught up with all my fave bloggers yesterday..everyone is just so inspiring and just so DAMN funny!
Anyways...this week has been a whirlwind for me. Nothing dramatic happened really, except that I think it was thursday or friday here and it was 20 degrees outside! 20 DEGREES! Look, thats a big deal to island people like myself, and come on...we're in the south! My MIL said the world was coming to an end, to which I said, to myself obviously, I hope it would come to an end on her house. HAHA! LMAO! More on her another time. We're on a mandatory 6 day work week (sunday to saturday). Now get this though..I was off sunday the 11th, and won't have another day off until tuesday the 20th. WOW...what is that 8 days?! And then after the 20th, my next day off is not until saturday the thats 10 days. So you can imagine how exhausted I've been. Now if only I could remember where I planted that damn money tree.
Big daddy is so very much into working out and being healthy. Well I gave him a special project thats actually due tomorrow. He is putting together a workout plan for me. He would obviously have my best interest at heart, and would love for me to be as happy and healthy as he is. And why pay someone to do it, when I have someone at home who is more than capable of doing it. The only thing I'm not looking forward to is the eating healthy part...I LOVE pizza! I LOVE fried chicken! I LOVE chips and dip, and crackers. Look I'll just come right out and admit it...I LOVE FOOD! ALL FOOD! Oh I don't discriminate at all, unless it smells weird, or is too spicy. So wish me luck folks, because as you can tell, i'll definitely need it.
And here's one last question for everyone...
Do you absolutely believe that you should spell check your blogs?
In my opinion, you really don't have to. I blog as if y'all are in front of me and we're all talking. Now if writing a review for a company then by all means, please spell check. What are your thoughts?

Life with boys

I finally have a picture for my blog!

I know, I know...its not even me. But trust me, its a great one! Its an extreme close-up of my youngest, tank. Those fat cheekies always make me smile, and so I figured they'd make people reading my blog smile too.
I had plans on posting our family new years photo, but of course, my scanner is well being an @$$! So y'all are gonna have to bite your nails and wait for that one.

Calling all potty training moms of boys!

So I was over at Samantha Anderson's blog and you will not believe what she is giving away! A toddler urinal from Peter Potty. Yes you heard right, a toddler urinal.

If you haven't started potty training your little man, now is the time to do it. Well of course when he's ready. Instead of teaching by sitting and then learning to stand, they can start out standing just like daddy. In my opinion, this has to be one of the greatest things invented for little boys..I mean men. Another great feature: You can mount it on the wall, or it can be free standing on its base, or even placed right on the floor. Oh and did I mention that it adjusts to your child's height. Great news for my little man (he's got little legs).
Y'all need to go and check this out! Visit Samantha's blog and enter to win one for your little man!

the 4 to 1 blues...

Well big daddy (as the hubby would like to be called in blog world from now on) started back to work on monday after pretty much a whole year of just going to school. I had monday off, and took a pdo tuesday to take tank to the doctor for his regular checkup. I didn't want to have to pay for a whole week for juju and tank to go to daycare for only 3 days. So i decided to work the 4pm to 1am shift. Jase and Chad get home from school at 3 and then I leave for a little before 3:30. And they watch the little ones until about 5 when big daddy gets home.
so here I am...its finally midnight, and i'm the only agent up here in this section. Bored, sleepy, BORED!
But this time does give me a chance to reflect. Seriously. I've been working so much lately, that I haven't had time to just think about all the cool exciting things I wanna do this year. And no I really don't do the resolution thing. But I will this year. Lets see...
1. Make more individual time for each of my boys. I have so many now! LOL!!
2. Make more ALONE time for big daddy and me. And no not for that reason, but to just catch up and just be together. And it doesn't count when the kids are asleep.
3. Yell less. Besides the fact that I make an ugly face when I yell, I know scrunching up my face is just gonna give me premature wrinkles. But on a serious note..nothing really gets accomplished with yelling, NOTHING.
4. KEEP working out. I've been doing good for the past couple of months, very consistent.
5. Take a vacation! Well at least plan on taking a vaction

And thats all I have for now. I know, nothing dramatic. But as the week/month goes on, I know i'l think of something else.

New sleeping arrangement (*slight AC*)

So I had the past 2 days off from work (Monday and Tuesday).
Anyways, on Monday I decided to update our current sleeping arrangement. Tank is now about to be 9 months old and has been sleeping in his crib in our room since he was born. We didn't want to move him in with Juju because we were afraid that with all the waking up in the middle of the night he does, he would wake Juju up.
Well having tank in the room with us was convenient for a couple months, but over the past month and a half, it has really been an obstacle to have sex at night. We would start gettin at it, and then I would hear tank rolling around in his crib, asleep, but then would lose the moment. Obviously, the hubby could care less, cuz the truth is he was asleep. Well I know this could be too much info, but I like to express myself...vocally. Not screaming at the top of my lungs, but heavy enough that I was always afraid I would wake tank up. So unfortunately for convenience sake, our 'passion' has been very muted.
Well as I was saying, on Monday I had the day off, and decided to finally move tank in the room with juju. First of all...I had no idea it was gonna be that difficult. It didnt take long at all. I thought all I had to do was unscrew some screws and jus maneuver the crib out the door way, down the hall, and into the room. I mean hell, the hubby has done it like twice before with no issues. But no, it wasn't that simple for me. I ended up having to take down all 4 sides and move them into the room one by one, where I then proceeded to have to put it all back together. Whew! I set up the baby monitor and I was good to go. The only thing I worried about was the fact that it was a new room, and wasn't sure how tank was gonna sleep in a new place.
My worry was put to the back of my mind, when my hubby started being a little too flirty with me that night before bed. *wink wink* When I say we probably had THE BEST sex that night, it would totally be an understatement. No more worryin if we were gonna wake up the baby. And you know what else...he only woke up once time that night, and last night too.

To kill a mockingbird....

Well I don't actually want to kill the mocking bird. Brief overview first:
For the past two weeks, I have been agressively potty training Juju. Little did I know I didn't need to be so agressive. Who knew a pair of Thomas the train underwear is all the push he needed. Anyways, to help the process, everytime he goes, we cheer and make a big deal outta the whole thing: "YES! and WOOHOO! Go Juju go!"
Now back to the point of this post:
The other day Juju came running into the living room where I was sitting. And this is how it went:

JUJU: "Mama poo poo! Poo poo mama!
ME: "Hold it Juju, hold it!

That's normally how it goes, whether it be pee or poo. So we pull his underwear down, and he sits on the potty.

ME: "2 minutes"
(about a minute later...)

JUJU: "Mama I poo!"
(this is when I go in and he stands up for me to see)

ME: "Woohoo big boy! You poo! Yes!"
JUJU: "Yes!"

Now as I'm taking out the little bucket thing to clean it out, Juju is saying over and over "I poo, I poo." Well as I lift it out of the base, the bucket almost slips outta my hand...

ME: "Oh shit!"
JUJU: "Mama what? Shit?"
ME: "Nothing baby don't say that word."

Well my husbands comes home later that afternoon and asks Juju what we did that day...

JUJU: "Went wamart." (he leaves out the L everytime)
HUBBY: "Did you go to the potty today?"
JUJU: "Oh yes."
HUBBY: "Good job Juju! Daddy big boy! Did you do anything else?"
JUJU: "I shit."
JUJU: "Daddy I shit."

At this point of course my husband looks at me, and I tell him what happened. All he could do was laugh and tell Juju not to say that word anymore.

I mean seriously...guess I have to be more careful with what I say.

Another sunday at work...

This was forwarded to me by a guy that sits in the next row to the right of me...

When a co-worker comes in a little too happy singing "good morning" to everyone and you think, "Somebody needs to slap the s#@! out ofher"...You need to pray at work.

When someone comes in and announces, "office meeting in 5 minutes," and you think, "what the f*&% do they want now?"..... You need to pray at work.

When your computer is mysteriously turned off and you want to say, "which one of you sons of b*&^%$# turned off my computer?"..... You need to pray at work.

When you and a co-worker are discussing something, and a third person comes in and says, "well at my last office...," and you want to throw a stapler at him...... You need to pray at work.

When you hear a co-worker call your name and the first thing that crosses your mind is, "what the h*&^ does she want now?" and you try to hide underneath your desk......... You need to pray at work.

When you are asked to stay late and help do someone else's work and the first thing that pops in your head is, "both of you can kiss my a@@!!".... You need to pray at work.

When you're in the elevator and it stops to pick up someone who stood for five minutes waiting for the darn thing only to go DOWN one floor, and you say "that lazy b*&%$#"...... You need to pray at work.

When you take some vacation time and come back to find a mountain of paperwork sitting on your desk because no one else would do it and you think, "sorry a## M#$^%F%&#s"........ You need to pray at work.

If you have ever thought about poisoning, choking, punching, slapping or flattening someone's tires that you work with...... You need to pray at work.

If you avoid saying more than hello or how are you doing to someone because you know it's going to lead to their life story .......You need to pray at work.

If you know all the words that have been bleeped out....You need to pray at work!
